• Re: Start++ & Windows 7

    Thanks guys! I'm repro'ing the beep as well. I'll try to look into that soon. The sudo / UAC focus issue has been around a while and is a really tricky one. I'll look at that too, but it may take longer to nail 100%.

    Shenj: Brandon: That's the current behavior on Windows 7, until I find time to figure out a way to make the Vista behavior work with the new start menu in Win7. no one wants the Vista behaviour in Windows 7, the windows 7 behaviour is so much better, you should find a way to adopt that. Any Update ?! id really love to use Start++ ...

    Thanks! My friends at Tusubira and I greatly appreciate it :) Conveniently enough, I recently posted an early Windows 7 compatible build here: http://brandontools.com/files/folders/sppdevbuilds/entry743.aspx

  • Start++ for Windows 7 test build 2

    This is an experimental build of Start++ designed to work properly on Windows 7. It has not been tested extensively and has not been tested on Windows Vista. It is largely the same as the previous 0.8.1 Vista build. Updated 11/06/2009 - Build 2 addresses three problems: A window that was supposed to be hidden was showing up in ...

  • Re: Start++ & Windows 7

    jagansai: I installed start++ on Windows 7 RC. It is working fine for playing music, video, pictures. But, I don't get the custom UI as you get when searching for pic or searching internet through the command ''g start++'' or ''l star++'' ( without quotes). Is that the current behaviour on RC or am I missing something? That's the current ...

  • Re: Start++ & Windows 7

    Unfortunately I've hit a small snag, and may be unable to make Start++ work completely on the Win7 Beta build. I'm going to see if I can get the necessary piece of functionality restored before the final release. If not, I may pursue an alternative hooking mechanism (which unfortunately is a bit more complicated). I'll post an ...

  • Re: Start++ & Windows 7

    The current build is not (or is at most partially functional), but I'll be releasing an update to address that shortly.

  • Re: How to uninstall this software?

    You go to Control Panel and select Uninstall a Program. Or just search for the word ''uninstall.'' ''External uninstall software'' sounds very suspicious, and is probably going to cause more harm than good, or is just malware of some sort. If you have deleted the uninstall information then all you can do is delete the files in ...

  • Indexer Gadget 1.2 is available

    This is a minor bug fix release that addresses two issues: Fixes a bug that prevented the play / fast-forward buttons from updating immediately after a change to indexing speed. The last update inadvertently doubled the download size of the gadget, this has been fixed. Download the update here.

  • Re: Start Menu Background when typing

    Does that always happen? Or only if you type ''w'' or ''d'' into the search box? Those are the default aliases for ''wikipedia'' and ''dictionary,'' both of which have been using web pages that started showing that message (and which haven't been working very well lately). If you disable / delete the ''w'' or ''d'' Start Gadgets it ...
