Re: Start++ 0.7 Official Feedback Thread
This might be more of an unintended action than a bug, but when using start gadgets that invoke websites, using any action from the right-click menu (i.e. select all, view source, properties, etc.) causes the window to crash. As an example, I typed "weather 60622" and this showed me the weather. Right clicking brought up the context menu, but clicking on anything caused a crash.

Could you give me some details about your system? That error should only occur if it can't find the hook DLL ("SPPHookDll32.dll" or "SPPHookDll64.dll" in the same directory as the .exe).

Re: Start++ 0.7 Official Feedback Thread
I'm actually getting that same error everytime it starts. I checked and those files do indeed exist in the correct directory. I'm running Vista Ultimate on my laptop, and actually just did a fresh installation the middle of last week...so I don't have much installed. If you can think of any details that would be useful to you let me know. Or if you have a debug build you would like me to run that's okay too.

Update: And I was running 0.7.0.0, and noticed there was a newer version available. The update didn't solve the problem, but I noticed when I tried checking for updates it also said there were none available.
Update 2: I also tried installing it in the default location "C:\Program Files\Brandon Paddock\Start++" because I had it installed before at "C:\Program Files\Start++", but that didn't make a difference either. I still receive the error.

Re: Start++ 0.7 Official Feedback Thread
Its nice with this update, there is alot of potential, but look at this. This is what happens when i write g ***. All the text blown up so its enourmus and unreadable. Also when i tell it to open the page in the start menu, it loads and when done it goes enourmus, That also happens with weather. Its there an explanation or a soloution ?

Ryan / Zhack
Any other details you guys can provide me with? Are you running with UAC disabled? 32-bit or 64-bit machines? Are they English versions of the OS? Are you running Start++ as an admin? (won't work since Explorer isn't elevated, but shouldn't give that error)
I haven't updated the version manifest on the server yet, so no one has been triggered for an update to 0.7.x. I'll probably turn that on tonight, but I'd like to see if I can track down the issue you're having, or at least put some more helpful debugging information in the error message (I really didn't expect anyone to hit that one!).

The pages are rendered via IE. Do fonts look unusually large inside of IE?

Re: Start++ 0.7 Official Feedback Thread
I'm running English Vista Ultimate x86. UAC is enabled. Start++ doesn't run as an admin. I installed it over my .6 installation, and rebooted the computer afterwards. The file you mentioned is in the start++ folder in the program files folder.

Re: Start++ 0.7 Official Feedback Thread
Nope the site looks just normal, but also in the startmenu, there's an extra link. If i hit it, and press enter it open myspace/*Searchword*, and when i close that window the google search.

Hmm, not really sure what that could be. One thing you could try would be to open up IE, click "Tools" then "Manage Add-ons" then "Enable / Disable Add-ons" and see what add-ins you have enabled. Perhaps one of them is causing the problem? Is it possible you have some kind of spyware / adware installed that's causing problems?
Also, are you running a 64-bit system? If so, try launching the 64-bit version of IE, and make sure things are correct there, since that's what the Start Gadgets will be running in (since Start++ runs as a 64-bit process on x64 systems).

Re: Start++ 0.7 Official Feedback Thread
I'm seeing the same error as zhackwyatt. zhackwyatt:I'm running English Vista Ultimate x86. UAC is enabled. Start++
doesn't run as an admin. I installed it over my .6 installation, and
rebooted the computer afterwards. The file you mentioned is in the
start++ folder in the program files folder.
And all of the above applies to me too.

I have UAC enabled on my 32-bit Vista Ultimate installation. My language is English, and Start++ isn't runing as an admin. I tried running it as an admin and still received the same error. There are no add-ons installed in IE (I hardly use it) and it is not my default browser, which I'm not sure if that could cause the problem or not. My Vista installation was just done on Wednesday, so the chances of me having spyware is very slim.
I noticed that someone else mentioned that the file was in their Program Files folder in the Start++ folder. That's where I had originally installed it to, but uninstalled it and put it in the default directory. Then I deleted the profile in the AppData\Local folder so that Start++ would get a "fresh" start. That still didn't seem to work.
And the Startlets still work fine and Start++ runs despite the error, but it is the cool gadgets that don't work then. If you come up with a debug build that you want me to run I'd be more than happy to try it out, and then report back. Thanks Brandon!

Re: Start++ 0.7 Official Feedback Thread
FYI: .7.2 didn't solve the problem.
I don't think you were trying to fix it in that release anyways.
